Spring is coming!

Brad and I decided to take advantage of the lovely weather with an afternoon picnic in our backyard.  A trip to the lake wasn’t compatible with a menu of reheated leftovers, so our second hand picnic table was put to use for once.

We got to talking about our yard – looks like the grass may finally fill in well this year.  We each have our own ideas for what we’d like to do to improve the backyard.  Brad wants to lay down stones for a patio, covered with a pergola. (See picture here.)  I’d still like to grow some vegetables, though our very shady yard probably will prevent that from being a successful venture.  However, I want to definitely add some beds along the back of the house, even just for some shrubbery (haha – that word makes me laugh).  Long term, we’d like to get rid of our tin can-like shed in the middle of the yard and Brad would build a larger, stronger one in an out of the way back corner.

For now, we have leaves to rake up from the last of the fall.  Oh, and that dining room that isn’t quite yet finished yet. =)
